Sprout creates and connects ideas with the resources they need to grow.

 

Ideas are the commodity of our community. In Baltimore, our diverse communities, educational institutions, and companies create a develop new ideas daily. Unfortunately, transforming ideas into action can be difficult and many ideas are never brought to life or connected with the resource they need to find relevance to be activated. 

Sprout is here to change that. No longer will we allow ideas to die, we will connect those ideas with the resources they need to come to life. We will train our community to use process for innovation and we will create space to connect people and ideas with problems and solutions. Sprout will become the birthplace to prove to our world what Baltimore can create when we work together.

OPEN INNOVATION

Creativity and innovation is done best when ideas, perspectives and problems are connected. Often times, we innovate and create in silos. Companies, universities, organizations and individuals innovate within their walls, but rarely connect those ideas across our community. At Sprout Baltimore, we believe that innovation will be drastically improved if we break down our walls and connect. Connect with other organizations, universities and most importantly connect to the people in our communities who share many different perspectives. 

With that in mind we have developed our Idea Exchange. What is currently a virtual space, we hope to one day create one or many Open Innovation Workshops for our community to use and connect. The concept of our labs is quite simple, we present community developed ideas in stages of the innovation process and we invite others to connect and to provide resources and creativity to ideas within our system. Presenting these ideas publicly, allows for a broader audience to connect and enrich our ideas. Demonstrating these ideas within their stages allows those with expertise or Resources to connect.
